Provide education on the issues around battering and domestic violence. It helps to know what the issues are, what problems are encountered by both the victim and the batterer; what causes the violence and about the plight of every family member. Most people are not aware of the obstacles presented to the woman when she seeks help—the legal, financial, emotional traps that bind her in the violent relationship. There are even fewer resources for the many who seeks counseling to change his behavior. We only recently become more aware of the extent of emotional, and perhaps physical violence that impacts children in these relationships.
